The page cannot be displayed solution

I couldn't figure out why IE would work sometimes, but most of the time failed to load any pages. I discovered that by trying to upgrade the WIN DVD player program, it would bring up the upgrade information using IE, which keeps IE working until shutdown. This doesn't really fix the problem, but does allow me to get IE to work.
