Actually, I think Mike Burgess' replies to your queries were quite

My research indicates eSignal uses eAssist NetAgent CTI, which, among other
things, "features sophisticated routing, configurable *screen* *pops*, web
callbacks, and advanced real-time and historical reporting."

Now, 'screen pops' = pop-ups, so it's no wonder Mike includes an entry in
his HOSTS file to block it. I have no idea which of the entries is causing
your problem, Gordon. [<aside> Have you tried Mike's newst HOSTS file,
dated 13 Jun-04?]
As I posted earlier, your choices seem clear to me: Either use Mike's file
and don't run eSignal in the background or use another HOSTS file (or none
at all) and run eSignal in the background.
