Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can offer me any help with an issue I'm
experiencing with IE6. I'm behind a proxy server at my place of work.
Usually, once a day when I first access a page outside of our
corporate network, a dialog box pops up requesting me to enter my
username and password in order to connect to our proxy server. Since
I've indicated that I want to have this password saved in my password
list, all I have to do is hit enter and I'm authenticated.
I started experiencing a problem once I began to listen to my MSN
Radio at work. The proxy server doesn't have any problem letting me
connect to the streaming server, BUT, before every song (or between
every song), I am presented with the username and password dialog, not
once, but twice. The most annoying thing about it is that under
normal conditions the player begins buffering the stream for the next
song before the current song begins, but now, it waits until the
current song has finished, prompts me for my password twice (or shall
I say, prompts me to hit enter twice), and then begins buffering the
next track, causing a ~10 sec delay.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might go about alleviating this
problem? Ideally, I'd like to be able to just set an option so IE
would just attempt to authenticate with my stored username/password
without prompting me, but I'm not sure this is possible, nor am I sure
exactly why this is happening.
Thanks in advance for your help :)
