Q831167, which is only for Win2K-SP2/SP3/SP4, requires a reboot. Were the
machines rebooted?
It's advisable for most users to disable the AV app and close all other
running applications (e.g., IE) prior to installing anything, including
Windows Update downloads.
I'd try reinstalling Q831167 in the above-environment, making sure the
machines are rebooted.
Those who use and are familiar with SUS [or its unfortunately-named
successor WUS] may have other pointers. Try posting to this WinUp-specific
newsgroup, Alex, for excellent advice:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windowsupdate.
Also see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=831167 for some workarounds if
installing Q831167 isn't possible.
