A few months back, IE 6.0 suddenly ceased working and now
will only display the infamous "Page cannot be Displayed"
error message and it always redirects to
//C:\windows\system32\schloclc.dll/dnserror.htm. I am
running Windows XP Home with the latest service pack and
also had the latest service pack for IE 6.0. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled IE 6.0 (following the
directions in the Microsoft knowledgebase) to no avail. I
have also done an inplace reinstall of Windows XP Home and
this has still not resolved the problem. I connect to the
internet via a cable modem and have been able to browse in
the meantime using Mozilla's Firefox browser without any
problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
