search companion

Everytime I open internet explorer, my search companion
has changed back to the regular version, that is white
with options that include what search engine that you
want to use. It no longer has the blue background with
the search companion character that I have chosen. How
do I make sure that everytime I open Internet Explorer
that the search companion that I have chosen remains
there? Please help
