I can't log on to msn or my.msn

I have had the same problems recently as well as a more
pervasive problem. When I first try to open the browser I
get a white page and the words "y.msn.com" in the upper
left corner. When I try again the browser opens correctly
to my home page.
I am using the latest versions/patches of WinXP Pro and
Inet Explorer 6, and a hotmail/passport entry to the home
page. I have also run both Adaware and Spybot to track
nasties--none found.
Any clues?
