HELP. I have major problems with Java.

Ever since downloading a security updated for Windows 2000 and MSIE, I
have had nothing but problems with web pages that use Java.

I am using Windows 2000, sp4 and the latest MSIE. I keep these up to
date for obvious security reasons.

At first, I would get occasional error messages that would say
something about MS IE having problems and would need to restart. It
would ask if I wanted to send a trouble report to Microsoft. They
must have about 100 from me already. Needless to say I have heard
nothing back from them.

Most web pages loaded fine. In fact a couple load the same pages over
and over, only once in a while MSIE would crash.

So since the problem was with java, I did a little research on this
site and others and saw I need to get the latest Sun version, which I
did. This made no difference.

Now it has gotten worse. It seems as more site use java, I am having
more frequent problems.

I have checked my MS IE options to make sure JIT is turned off and I
have checked Sun Java as my selection.

I have deleted the Microsoft JVM per instructions on this site, but
nothing is working.

It would seem to me, something is deeply wrong with the programs on my
computer related to Java or MS IE. Is there anyway to clean these off
and reload MSIE?

I have seen references to doing this for Windows XP, but I can find
nothing about this for Windows 2000.

Thanks.
