Suddenly IE crashes when run by administrator

I recently discovered this problem when responding to a
notice from my ISP to download a new security patch from
Microsoft. Running Win2K Professional with multiple users
on the machine. When the administrator or any user with
administrator tries to run IE, I get the dialog that says
IE has encountered a problem and will abort, option to
send report, etc. This seems to be a new problem.

I downloaded and re-installed IE 6 but this doesn't seem
to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for any assistance.
