Thanks for the information and support

1- Cookies and temporary Internet Files were deleted
through the control panel (Internet options). As well,
history folder was cleared
2- The Windows Update Installation history shows that the
832894 security update (MS04-004) or the 821814 hotfix
have not been installed on the machine. (Note the Critical
Update is part of the machine start up folder and that all
security updatesa are downloaded as they become available
from microsoft
3- File Q831167.exe (Update for Internet Explorer 6
Service Pack 1 (KB831167) was downloaded and installed.

Unfortunalely, no success. Any new suggestion to resolve
the problem?

Pls note this new element of information since the problem
was first brought up in the discussion group. The yahoo
email can be accessed if the standard mode is selected as
oppose to the secured mode when entering ID and passwords
(on yahoo login page).
While, I can now access my yahoo email, I have some
concerns re the security since I can only log in the
standard mode as oppose to the secure mode like I have
been doing in the past. Furthermore, I would like to
understand and fix my PC as it is the only machine
behaving this way. All other machines let me log in yahoo
email in the secured mode!
Thanks again
