I've tried Adaware and it did not help me with a similar problem that I have
when going to one site specifically.
I've been trying to nail this one for a while now.
The site http://www.mytelus.com/ is all of a sudden extremely slow to
load on my desktop, yet it still smokes with other computers on my network.
By viewing my network connection icon, I see that whenever I go to this
site, a short download will occur and then no network activity, then other
small network packets sent to and from, all taking 30 seconds or longer.
I have a cable connection hooked up to a router and it used to smoke on my
desktop, and still does on other computers, maybe 5 seconds fully downloaded
tops.
I've tried the re-install IE and then an in place fix of XP to no avail.
I've tried AdAware.
hmmm...
p.s. nothing new has been installed that I can recall except Windows
updates.
Any other ideas?

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
