Some configurations of Windows XP won't come with Microsoft's Java Virtual
Machine (JVM) because of a settled lawsuit with Sun. If I hunted around, I
believe there is a way to get Microsoft to provide an updated version of
their runtime JVM but it requires you manage to get an old version installed
and then run Windows Updates. Otherwise, go to http://java.com/en/index.jsp
and use Sun's.
