You probably dragged your Favorites folders down into your Links
subfolder. Then you would be able to use them as buttons in the
Links bar.
But why would that be handy? You would have to open a subfolder
as an Explorer window with a doubleclick and then select and open items
with a doubleclick. This would be in contrast with using the subfolder
as a menu extension where you could then select items merely by moving
your mouse or using the apppropriate keystrokes.
