certain web sites cause internet explorer to quit

I currently have this problem and had it in the past.
The only way I was able to resolve the problem was to
reload windows...which means reinstalling ALL MY
SOFTWARE. This really sucks. It's like most all other
MS products imo - mediocre at best. After gaining market
share, they let the quality sink even further.
