Hello DD,
If the software is only under Add/remove programs it is not assigned, it is published. See here about:

Hello DD,
The it will not apply to the user, move the computer to the OU and
run gpupdate /force. At least logoff it not displayed in the Start
menu.

Hi,
1) All are user account
2) Running the Gpresult it shows the name of the policy applied as
this is the same policy with which screen saver and password
settings
are configured and they are working fine, only this assigned
software
not installing on the clients.
3) All clients are WINXP
4) All are configured with the internal DNS server
5) waited for almost 3 hours now.
Best Regards,
DD

Hello DD,
Is the computer or user account in that OU?
If you run gpresult /v on the client machine is the policy listed
as
applied?
What OS are you using on the client machines?
Are they configured to use only the domain internal DNS server?
Did you wait for replication of force it between your DC's and run
gpupdate on the client?
Best regards

the
software to users, but still the software not being installed in

Hello DD,
The default domain controller policy is linke to the domain
controllers OU and applies to the DC's located in it, with
computer
configuration. In this policy you should basically NEVER change
anything. If you need additional settings for the DC's create a
new
policy and link it also to the DC's OU. If something fails you
have
still the basic default settings for the DC if you remove your
additional linked GPO's.
If you like to assign a new software for new users/computers you
have
to link the policy to the OU where either the users or computer
are
added.

Hi,
I have a default domain controller policy for screen saver,
passwords
and
etc which is working fine. Now recently under this policy itself
added
software 7zip.msi to be assigned to all user. But the software is
not
getting installed on any machine. I assigned the software by full
UNC
name
and followed the exact procedure. The software distribution
folder
is
shared
to all read only but still this software not getting installed on
any
machine.
