Hi, thanks for the responses. Is there anything I need to worry

If they aren't joined to the domain there isn't anything you can do on them
anyway.
but the login will be trying to?
What do you mean - the user is trying to use his/her domain login, with
cached credentials? That should work fine. You can test this easily enough
by disconnecting your Ethernet cable.

I think their's a domain profile for the Windows Firewall which
detects if the computer is connected to the domain and if so it will
turn the firewall on (the machine is assumed to be behind a
corporate firewall).
By default it's on (and I think it should be left that way; it's
easy to set up exceptions)
If not (i.e. user is working remotely), the policy will
protect the computer by turning the Firewall on. Found here:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network >
Network Connections > Windows Firewall
The article below says: "It is highly recommended that you
configure both domain and standard profile settings and enable
Windows Firewall for both profiles."

Now, have I ever tried this personally? No. But I will test this
all out and get back to you.
Domain policies won't apply unless David joins the PCs to the domain,
though.
