I want to configure some permissions on Registry keys using Windows 2003 Active Directory domain Group Policy. I'm not sure what you expect to see. The "Registry" feature is there to manage permissions on registry keys on the machines - it doesn't add keys. So when you leave the "default" security there, it won't do much on clients.

If you need to alter or add registry keys on the client, have a look at creating your own custom ADM templates or at Group Policy Preferences - they can do that.
