Hi,

Please, do NOT use IE Maintainance, reset them (Contextmenu, right mouseklick on IE Maintainance)OK, now that's a problem...how else do I apply proxy ?
Use a selfcreated ADM TEmplate, like this:
http://www.gruppenrichtlinien.de/adm/ie.txt
CLASS USER
CATEGORY "Some settings on Internet Explorer"
POLICY "Proxy-Configuration"
KEYNAME "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings"
PART "Activate Proxy" CHECKBOX
VALUENAME "ProxyEnable"
END PART
PART "Proxy-IP and Port, e.g. 192.168.99.5:3128" EDITTEXT
VALUENAME "ProxyServer"
END PART
PART "Local Adressesm please do not remove <local>" EDITTEXT
DEFAULT "<local>"
VALUENAME "ProxyOverride"
END PART
END POLICY
END CATEGORY
As I said before Mark, I MUST restore what did work before whatever "pollution" occurred...
I had a lot of problems with IE Maintainance before :-(
Mostly removing and recreating it completly was the only solution.
- reset the existing settings
- create them new and set aswell in the Computer OU:
- Computer Conf\AdmTempl\System\Group Policy
"Client Side Extension Internet Explorer Maintainance"
-> "Process even if the Group Policy objects have not changed"
activate
The big disadvantage: Now the IE Maint. will run EVERY cycle :-(
So, just us this setting perhaps for a week, and deactivate it after
this time. Usually after a week, everyone should have logged in and
should have applied the settings.
[...]
This is worrying, as it suggests that this pollution may be more widespread.
I don´t believe it. I think you know what you are doing ;-)
Deleted one from here...it was not replaced at restart after above changes etc....I imagine it should be, huh?
The local registry.pol is only created by gpedit.msc, nothing else.
In fact, unless some miracle occurs (whether by His, your, or other providence), I'm going to have to call PSS tomorrow...
.... hopefully they'll laugh and point me at a simple tick-box :)
I keep my fingers crossed!
Mark
