Thank you for the response Florian. I've actually been to EventID and tried
all but one of the solutions to no avail. Here is the relevant ipconfig
info:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : ACCOUNTING
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : copperstate.technologies
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No
DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : copperstate.technologies
Ethernet adapter IP_10.0.4.8:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network
Connection #2
Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-14-22-12-F4-BA
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.4.8
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.4.89
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.0.4.8
Primary WINS Server . . . . . . . : 10.0.4.8
Everything "appears" to be ok with that.

The file must be present at the location
<\\copperstate.technologies\sysvol\copperstate.technologies\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\gpt.ini>.
(Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the
event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine
that describes the reason for this.
That's the network configuration on that DC like? Check with ipconfig /all
and look for inappropriate DNS information. Make sure that the DC has
itself as the Preferred DNS server and another DC as the alternate DNS
server set. If you're not sure, you can post ipconfig /all output here -
with appropriate additional information (ip addresses of other DCs and so
on)
If DNS is working well (DNS servers are alright) and tests with nslookup
for domain and domain controllers have passed, have a look at
www.eventid.net and type in your eventids. There's a list of things you
can do to resolve your issue.
cheers,
Florian
