Yes, i know that. It is because i get much quicker response and because
the topic is relevant to all groups.E.g people in the general NG also
knows GPO's and would be able to assist me
Some people get pissed off by that since posting multiple messages and
reading them several times ('cause they have subscribed multiple NGs)
doesn't 'enquicken' the responses. The opposite will happen: people who
often read those newsgroups that are able to help you won't answer cause
you feel that you're topic is much more important (to you) than anything
else.
Just my 2 cents.
By the way: .windows.networking has not much to do with your topic ;)
On my pc i can see the policy there. I would assume it shows there
because i manually edit the registry to show the new WSUS server and i
manually edit the group policy to point to the WSUS server.
That is right. That is the only reason why you can see that there.
If i look on someone next to me where i didn't do anything manually i
don't see the policy there.did ask him to reboot also.
The OU you linked the policy to - are there any machine objects?
The 2 DC's in my company is listed under that OU.
You configured a Computer Configuration-policy and you therefore need toYes. There are a default domain policy that i assume work 100% because it
have machine objects in that OU.
Are the workstations joined to the domain (correctly?)
autimatically give evyone access to the internet if you join the domain.
Do the workstations' DNS settings point to a Domain Controller (as theYes. That is set in the network properties to pick up the DNS automatically
only, primary source)?
and all the pc's point to 192.168.150.101 as the DNS. This is also the pc
that i try to work on the GPO through AD
cheers,
Florian
