Re: Failed to open group policy

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I don`t remember exactly but I tell you like

You go into domain users and computers and select advanced view which will
show you some more inbuilt hidden ous than what you are seeing.

And in that one hidden OU there will be a list of many more OUs in it and
one of it will be for group policy that is like sysvol and something you can
check that permission settings and than restart the system You should be
able to do what you want to

Hi,
Whenever I try to open "Domain Controller Security Settings" or
"Default Domain Security Settings" on my Domain Controller I get the
following error:
Failed to open group policy Object. You may not have appropriate
rights) Details: A referral was returned from the server.

The problem is that I have no EventId or Error in the event viewer
matching that!
Moreover I can open GPO with no errors, very strange.
I am logging in as a user with Domain Admin Rights.
It's not a fresh install, it used to work.

Can someone please help or know something about that?

Thanks a lot!

Alex
