Yeah, but are they any good at developing programs?

Right. The good news (well, I guess it depends upon your thoughts of the
government as to whether its good) is that it was commissioned by the US
EPA, so while its not a traditional publisher, it is a BIG one :)

Hi Darren,

Yeah, that's what made me question it in the first place. Always makes
me nervous installing free software, especially if it's installing a new
service from a lesser known publisher. That's why I was wondering about
it's stability.

I'm running about 50 workstations so while installing a client component
on each computer is tedious, it's not insurmountable.

Thanks,
Linn

Linn-
I've talked a lot of folks that have had luck with it. I personally have
only tested it on a small scale and it seems pretty capable but I think
it depends upon your environment. The fact that it requires a service be
installed on each client can be a bit more work but most solutions out
there today, short of using Vista, require some extra infrastructure be
installed to get this done.

Darren

Hi,

Has anyone tried this EZ GPO software from the Energy Star folks? I'm
looking for a way to globally manage the power features of my user's
computers. Does EZ GPO work or is it more trouble than it's worth?
Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Linn
