I'm a newbie to setting up GP on a small server 2003 domain. I have a few books but I was wondering if anyone can recommend some - step by step setup of GP in Server 2003, and if it does not work how to troubleshoot.

First, I'd recommend reading a book that explains the basics of Active Directory and Windows-DNS as those are essentials that you really need in order to understand and work with Group Policy.

A somehow must-have is this book:
http://www.microsoft.com/mspress/books/8763.aspx

and of course all articles and guides at
http://www.microsoft.com/gp

cheers,
