Re: Firewall Policy for laptops

James, this is one of many settings you can control in a very granular
way with Scriptlogic's Desktop Authority. Through validation logic
rules you can have laptops logging in from a specific IP range to have
certain firewall settings. I think you may find this to be more
flexible and simpler to configure than trying to accomplish this
through GP. Check it out.

Hi I am trying to configure a GP for our company laptops. I want to have the
firewall disabled or all ports open when the laptop is connected to the
corporate network using the 10.* ip address range but enabled with only a few
exceptions when the laptop is connected to the internet.

When connected via the internet many users use a cisco vpn client with ipsec
to connect to the network where they are then assigned an internal IP on the
10. network so my GP's have to work with these users.

Please can you suggest the best way to configure this with group policy.
