Problem: Events 1085, 1202, services.exe failing

Hi Everyone:

I've got a problem with a PC here that's really stumping me.

First of all GP errors are being reported in its application event log as
follows:

Event 1202
Security policies were propagated with warning. 0x428 : An exception
occurred in the service when handling the control request. For best
results
in resolving this event, log on with a non-administrative account and
search http://support.microsoft.com for "Troubleshooting Event 1202's".
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Event 1085
The Group Policy client-side extension Security failed to execute.
Please
look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I tried following the troubleshooting tips on the MS website, and the only
error being reported in the winlogon log file is the following:

----Configure Group Membership...
Configure Administrators.
Error 1332: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
Error occurred during lookup of all accounts.

Also, at seemingly random times, services.exe would crash.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Regards,
Brian
