Re: Applying Security Templates to Specific Users/Groups

You need to effect that with direct registry edits as any changes
set in local policy are applied to all accounts equally. While there
is a workaround, it is rather painful, and you end up redoing things
as soon as you determine that a different policy settings is needed.

Greetings:

I have a need to set specific security policies to a group. We are
using XP Pro sp 2 on a peer network. Instead of using the default "Power
Users" or "Administrators", I would like to apply customized security
settings to a user defined group. I can do this on a domain with no
problem but do not see how to do this on a specific machine on a peer
network. Advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
