Hi Max,

If you deploy software to your computers you need to make sure that the
computer account has read access to the share.
That can be done by giving authenticated users read access to the share.
Domain Users is only for users... not computers.
This has to be done on both the share permisions and the ntfs permisions.

The error you get, is typicaly an error with access to the source path,
when installing to computers.

Hello, we got 2 new windows 2003 file server, which replace the old 2000
Server, where the old Enterprise MSI´s lied.
The servers run as Cluster(and the Shares as cluster resource).

The old 2000 Servers ran as a Cluster too. Since then the MSI's moved on
the new file server , no more MSI are not applied .
And we get the following errors:

Type of event: Error source of event: Application management event
category:

No: event identification: 102
date: 10.05.2006
time: 17:24:42
user: NT-AUTORITAET\SYSTEM
computer: PC-XY
description: The installation of application Software_XY of the
guideline XY failed.
Error: The source of installation for this product is not available.
Guarantee that the source is present and you have access to it.

We tested access with going on the UCN Pathes(the unc from which are
configured in the gpo´s) with the windows explorer.

Need urgently your advice.
Thank you
