In additon to Florian's great comments you can also use rsop.msc from the
start run command to display the Resultant Set Of Policy information.

Howdy Darell!

I have a small network running 2003 server, with 10 XP workstations. We
began testing the use of group policies to send certain settings to the
desktops. But we had issues so we reverted back to an un modified copy.
Now, when I replaced two systems with new PC's, the users cannot modify
the settings of the desktops. They cannot put folders or shortcuts on
the desktops, but they can add folders to the drive in windows explorer.
My question is, where do I look for the settings that are preventing them
from doing this? It has happened only on the two new systems. All of
the other systems are just fine.
Click Start->"Help and Support" -> select "System Information" at "Tools -
Locate tools like System information..." -> Click "Advanced System
Information" at the left panel under "Tools - Help and Supprt Center
Tools" and finally select "View Group Policy Settings applied".
This will show you all policies the machine and the user applied from GPs.
cheers,
Florian
