well that GPO is being applied as well per Gpresult

Do you have any other network issues? Can you see \\<server name>\sysvol
from the client. Have you changed any OUs on in Active Directory?

I'll get hold of the latest NIC drivers for the PC and give it another go.
But at least I now know where to look.
