Ultimately only you can decide what is best.
I find that using a GPO at the OU level that only covers client
systems is best, as one usually does not want the same settings
for WSUS on servers and DC as for client systems.
So, it depends on how your OU structure is organized, but
you may end up linking one GPO at a couple of high-level OUs
in order to cover all client systems with it.

I am having difficulties understanding this step of WSUS Group Policy
creation:
To add the WSUS Administrative Template:
1. In Group Policy Object Editor, click either of the Administrative
Templates nodes.
2. On the Action menu, click Add/Remove Templates.
3. Click Add.
4. In the Policy Templates dialog box, click wuau.adm, and then click
Open.
5. In the Add/Remove Templates dialog box, click Close.
Step 1. I am going to the MMC and adding the Group Policy Object Editor
snap-in.
Am I supposed to use "Local Computer" or browse to the OUs in my AD
structure? When I browse, I see multiple OUs for each of my locations,
i.e. NY, ATLANTA, etc.
I want to use this WSUS server for every computer in our domain.
I thought another way would be to use GPMC, and right click on the
DOMAINNAME.COM and choose "Create and Link a GPO Here", and create it
there?
Is that the right way to go?
I have the WSUS server installed, and all thats left is the AD Group
Policy
creation...
Can someone please guide me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.
