I just recently moved files from a windows 2000 file server to a windows
2003 file server.
I moved all the individual folders, all that is left is public folders.
I have a public folder, and various people create their own folders in there
for them to store files for others to have access to. of course these files
are not anything that need to be protected and everybody in the company has
access to them.
is there a way to create a link to this public folder on the new server on
every PC?
Typically we mapped the public folder to U: drive and make a shortcut on
their desktop, so I would like to do that without having to physically touch
each PC
I could tell them to type \\servername\public, but some of the users would
have a hard time with that (beleive it or not)
gary
.
