network folders and printer WinXP

Hi all,

Can someone please point me in the direction of disabling the function of
Win XP workstations automatically searching for network folders and
printers. I know where to look for it on the local machine, but I want to
be able to disable it through group policy. It is causing some pain in
relation to industry specific software.

any ideas???
