I just tested this using Local Group Policy on an XP Pro computer of mine it
worked fine. What I did is added Printers and Faxes to the allowed list.
Note that this is user configuration which means that the users accounts you
want this to apply to must exist in the container/OU structure where you
configured the GPO and there is a propagation lag of up to two hours to
computers when GP is changed which you can speed up with reboot/logoff or
gpupdate. You can use the support tool gpresult to see what Group Policies
are applying to the user to see if the information is what you expect and it
will also show the last time the GPO was applied. The mmc snapin for
Resultant Set of Policy in logging mode on your domain controller will also
show a lot about what Group Policy is being applied to a user/computer and
from what GPO. --- Steve
