Logoff scripts didn't run, Event 1000 errors in App log

About a month ago I created a GPO to run a logoff script to delete
users temp internet files. After I created this and applied it I
started to receive the following two userenv errors in my application
logs for all my servers and workstations:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 7/24/2005
Time: 3:38:33 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: A1SV03
Description:
Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO The file must be
present at the location <>. (). Group Policy processing aborted.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 7/24/2005
Time: 3:38:33 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: A1SV03
Description:
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects . A message
that describes the reason for this was previously logged by this policy
engine.

I made sure the script was indeed in the correct location, even removed
the GPO, and then added it again, but no luck. Finally in frustration,
I deleted the GPO all together, yet still receive the errors.

I've searched all over the web, google groups, MS KB etc., for userenv
1000 errors, but can't figure out how to cure this one. Any
suggestions?

Thanks-
Brian
