Re: SUS not updating on clients and servers

Try using Resultant Set of Policy on the domain controller in logging mode
to see if it shows the proper Group Policy settings being applied to those
computers for your Automatic Updates settings. It may help to specify the
fully qualified domain name of the SUS server in your Group Policy as in
mysusserver.mydomain.corp and verify that the servers can ping the SUS
server by fully qualified domain name. Does the Windows update.log on one
of the problem servers show the server trying to query the SUS server or any
server for updates?? Did you configure the servers to download and install
the updates automatically by schedule? Also look in Event Viewer on the SUS
server and a problem server for any related Event ID's that may help point
you in the right direction. Port 80 TCP needs to be available on your
server for the Automatic Updates clients and World Wide Publishing service
needs to be running. --- Steve
