Well I thought I'd cracked it and then......
I created some barnd new AD Group Policy's blocked inheritance and built a
mcahine with Windows xp sp2 (slipstreamed) using ris and guess what it
worked and it still works three days later! this was a laptop one of twenty
we have to build for staff .... the next machine i built worked then i
restarted it and you guest it back to normal no ie proxy or homepage
settings ... now these two machines had exactly the same build from the same
image and have been only logged on to as my self and were built with ris
directly into the same AD unit. ....
However after this point i found some AD replication errors on my servers...
i have since cured these and I am now going to rebuild the laptop using RIS
auto and see what happens.
Can only be an SP2 problem I think, will be a pain though with 1000 students
wandering round 350 computers .... well at least its more secure they cant
even get access to the internet, cheers microsoft!!!!
