Have a new installation of Windows 2003 AD. Attempted to create a login
script as a test, to ensure all works fine, before I created all ou's and
scripts etc.

The root domain controller is the only controller in place at present, and
is not live.

The client is on the same subnet, and is Windows XP service pack 1 with all
updates applied

Using this as prelimary test prior to creating sites etc.

The login script fails to run, or show up on the client screen.

a.. Created an ou called "testou" at the domain level - using group policy
management
b.. Created a user called "test1" - using users and computers and placed
in the "testou" ou
c.. Created a domain local group called "testgrp" - using users and
computers and made user "test1" a member
d.. Created a "testou login script group policy" and linked it to the
"testou" ou - using group policy management
e.. Edited "testou login script group policy" user configuration/ windows
settings / scripts / logon (added script name "test logon"
Created batch file "logon.bat" - this was automatically placed in the
correct location

a.. Edited the "testou login script group policy" to enable (1) run logon
scripts synchronously, (2) run login scripts visible
b.. No changes made to the default domain policy.

a.. Ran gpupdate /force from command prompt on root domain controller
Ran the group policy results wizard, claims test login script policy was
applied

Check group policy modelling wizard - claims test login script policy was
applied

The winning gpo was also the test login script policy.

Any ideas, please help
