It sounds like your software package is blowing up on the workstations in
question... If you see the "Applying Managed Software..." screen and then it
disappears there should be something in the workstation event logs
(Application or System) that tells you why the software installation
failed... In addition, you can check the
"C:\Windows\Security\Logs\Winlogon.log" this should also indicate something
about the policy that was not applied properly...
Have you tried to install the package (MSI) on one of the machines in
question by navigating to the MSI and installing manually? I simply use the
address line in windows explorer i.e. \\server\share\softwaredir and then
click on the MSI to see how it reacts to
these machines... "Domain Computers" should have access to the software
share in question if this is a Machine Policy...
