I'd say it's time to sweep the system. Update your virus definitions and
run a scan. Large hidden files, smbadmin installed, sounds suspiciouly
like a trojan whith a keylogger.

So far, I had no problems moving that archives to another drive.
I think I can safely delete them.
I don't use Samba and I don't know what this software is.
(Curiously, the only samba I know, is the typical music rhythm in my
country, Brazil)
