Hi,
My XP C:\Windows directory has 4 huge hidden archives named E, O, S, and
Y,
without any extension.
Each of them is 1,6 Gb big.
I tried to move them to another drive, but the system doesn't allow.
I tried to apply the "attrib -h" DOS command to them, but I receive the
message:
"Not resetting system file - C:\WINDOWS\E"
What are they for?
Can I safely delete them? How to do it?
Thanks
When Windows tells you that a file is a "system file" then you
must adjust the attrib command accordingly:
attrib -h -s -r c:\Windows\E
These files are not native Windows files. In view of their sizes
I suspect that they pertain to some third-party recovery program
such as Symantec's GoBack. What maintenance programs did
you install on your PC?
.
