My question is: what is the file $Secure
The $Secure is a file which contains all security descriptors of all files
on a NTFS volume
See more info on NTFS here :
http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/8cc5891d-bf8e-4164-862d-dac5418c59481033.mspx?mfr=true
and what may have corrupted the
file.
Good question; any application, and/or user who has access to the disk and
can write data bypassing NTFS file system prehaps ?
Really, there are no answers for that question, unless it repeats at a
predictable pattern / period, and you go into a lot of debugging of your OS,
including applications and NTFS or other IO drivers in the stack.
