Hello John,
I've run again
It reports
89GB total
84.9GB used
~2.5GB system
4.1GB free
4096 Bytes (cluster)
22343589 total clusters
1042568 clusters
Any idea?

Hello John,
thank you for your reply, but i don't agree with you.
As you says, from 120GB I have actually 111,79.
From these 111GB, 85GB are in C partition.
Within C partition, i can find only 37GB of data, though when I go to
properties of particion c, windows shows that c has ~85GB and only 3GB are
free! So, 40GB are missing and this cannot be just this byte counting
system.
As I wrote before, sequoia gives me this information about volume c:
Size: 81,6GB (41.630.603.089bytes).
Prease, repare the numbers: from 81GB->41... bytes!
I don't know wether this is a hardware or software problem. All tests on
my
hard disk are ok...
Please, more suggestions!
Guilherme

Once you right size the disk (disk manucturers report a 120G Drive as
1000
is a KB. Disk tools report based on 1024 bytes is a KB.) It looks just
about right. The missing space is the Lenevco and Linux partitions.

It says:
6.24 GB (Lenovo)
85,23 GB NTFS (c: Windows)
18,44 GB Linux
1,88GB swap for linux

Do you perhaps have a hidden Lenovo restore partition?
What does Disk Management report?

Hello,
I have a very strange problem!
I have a lenovo T60 laptop, with windows vista business and also a
partition
for Linux. My harddisk has 120GB and I left 85.2GB for windows
(partition
C)
. However, my free disk area was getting smaller without installing
softwares
or saving personal data. I initially thought this was windows
updates
or
the
system restore disk. So I made it very small, and the problem
continued.
Now,
I have only 3GB free!
Now comes the strange part!
1) When I select all files in C (including system files and hidden
files)
and go to properties, it shows only 37GB of size.
2) I have then used SequoiaView to try to find out possible large
files
that
are
using the rest of the partition. strangely, it graphically displays
only
the
37GB with 2GBfree and at the same time says that the partition has
85GB.
3) So I went to properties of sequoia and it displays:
Location C:\
Size: 81,6GB (41.630.603.089bytes)
Free: 3,68GB (3.954.462.720bytes)
Showing: All files
Now, we see there is a discrepancy of 40GB in the counting size!!!
(From
81
to 41GB!!!) There must be a problem in this counting!
4) I have run several tests to verify the hard disk. None pointed to
any
problem! Accordong to these test, my harddisk is "perfect".
5) Also have run updated anti-virus softwares and no virus was
found.
(perhaps some virus was cousing such behaviour).
Any suggestion how to solve this problem?
Next option I see is to reinstall windows vista. Is it possible to
format
C,
reinstall windows and still keep the Linux partition?
Many thanks in advance
Guilherme
