RE: DFS Replication not working properly

Having the same issue, have a 32 bit R2 server that replicated against 2
other servers (in 2 different sites), one 32 bit R2 and one 64 bit R2, both
these servers have the same issue as Clive.

Has namespace servers anything to do with files not replicated?

I will soon skip dfs replication and use robocopy, atleast i can see what
happens there :-)

Hi,

We have problems with DFS Replication.
We are running two 64 bit R2 servers. Each server is placed in a seperate AD
Site.
The servers replicate home and shared areas for our customer.
Things on the face of it look ok and running the DFS Heath Check show only
minor problems with some violation error with some files (which I undertand
is normal).

However the users complain that some folders are missing compared to what
other users see at the different sites.

When we run a program like Beyond Compare which does a file/folder
comparision against the shares on the 2 servers we see that not all folder
and files are replicated and there seems no logical reason why they shouldn't
have been replicaed. No errors in the event log. However if we restart the
DFS service on the server then the folder and files are replicated immediatly
and will continue working for a day or two when the same problem crops up
again (with different folders and files from last) and again the restart of
the DFS service fixes the problem.

All servers are patched with the latest service packs and hot fixes.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be or whereabouts we can
start our fault finding process?

Many many thanks in advance for anoyone who can help us out with this problem.

Clive
