Hello!
When installing Windows I always make a separate partition for the
swapfile. I calculate a fixed size for the file corresponding with the
amount of RAM installed and make the partition about 10% bigger.
Problem is, that the users of the computers always have this
"necessity" to put files on that partition. I can explain them
hundreds of times not to do so, they always will put their files
there. (Even when on other partitions is plenty of room.)
How can I convince Windows (98SE and XP) not to show the drive where
the swapfile is located but to still swap there?
Greetings,
Eugen
You don't need to - just use the manual method to set the
size of the paging file to the size of that partition. The partition
will now be full and users won't be able to store any files
on it. This works for WinXP - for Win98 you should ask a
Win98 newsgroup.
