This is weird!
I am able to view, load, and work with TIF files but not remove
them even when the TIF file is a empty file.
My cameras (Nikon 5700, 8800 and D300) are able to record and upload
TIF formatted file which are supposed to be better then JPG. All that
works fine. I can edit the files and use "save as" to save the result.
When I want to remove any TIF file I always get an error message
stating:
"... file can not be removed''' it is being used by another program or
person"
Which is not the case. All other programs are closed and not other
users are on my network. All files of other file types that I work
with remove without error. This occures even from a XP DOS command
window.
I created a one character text file and when renamed to "X.tif" can
not now be renamed or removed, Thus I conclude the problem rests with
the windows OS and not the application that was used to modify or
create the file.
Any creative suggestions out there. I sure could use a little help
here.
Thanks in advance,
John Owens

You could use oh.exe (Windows Resource Kit) to find out which
application locks your .tif files, and unlocker from
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ to unlock them.
