Forget what I wrote there. I read your post too fast.
Only the cer-file is to be added at that point. That file contains the public key which is used to encrypt the FEK.
Your're simply missing an entire step.
In the certificates console (certmgr.msc), you must import the pdx-file into your personal folder. That whay you gain access to the private key, which is nessecery to decrypt the files
.
