Thank You Dave,
You are correct as my IDE HD seems to be dying. Well at least when I unplug
it from the computer everything boots faster. So now I need to know what to
do to get my system ported over correctly to the drive I installed Vista on
as it was a dual boot before. Or, if possible can I get a new hard drive so
I can boot up to XP again, as I have a backup of the old IDE drive's data
that I could restore to it.
Thanks again.

That error message is most likely returned from your drive controller or.
mobo system bios. Check that the device boot order is correct in cmos or
controller setup. I'd also download and run the manufacturer's diagnostic
utilities from their web site (disk and disk controller) If in the case of
IDE and the boot device shares a channel then that device may also be the
culprit.

Dave,
Thank You for your help. I had to stop booting from my original XP drive
as
I would get an error message, "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or
Insert
Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key" It would not boot at
all. It's like the MBR got corrupted or something. I do think that if we
can get my computer back to booting from the XP drive (restoring a Dual
Boot
configuration on it) then the slow boot problems would be resolved.
Thanks
