Hello,
looks like you have lost ACL.
Check the share & ntfs permission on the File Server.
I guess this is a really few people business, but keep in mind that this setup is really much far from
any best practice.
It would be better to buy a small nas than using a xp wks as a server

Hi all. I have a customer who wants to change the PC used as a server for
his small business. All OSs are XP-Pro. Current structure is a desktop
serving as the file server (FS) and a laptop (LT) which has several folders
mapped and synchronized from the FS. I've copied these folders to a USB HD,
swapped the old FS out and the new one in naming it the same as the old FS,
and copied the shared folders on to new FS in the same folder structure. It
appears the FS and folders are online for the LT but no new files or folders
can be created by the LT. Any ideas as to what might be the issue? Is this
the best way to accomplish this process? Thanks --- Mike
.
