The OP's question is valid.
- Open "My Computer".
- Right-click drive D: (for example)
- Click Properties
- Click the Tools tab
- Click the "Check Now" button
This is what the OP is after.

Hi, vp.on.guru.
I'm not clear on what you are asking, unless you are talking about a
third-party utility.
The only disk check utility included in Windows is Chkdsk.exe. It can be
run from the GUI, as you outlined, or from the command line. But it's the
same .exe either way. You didn't tell us which version of Windows you are
asking about, but the answer is practically identical for WinXP or Vista
or any other version in the past decade.
There are several ways to run chkdsk other than the GUI path:
1. Press the Windows key, or click the Start orb, and just start typing.
Type "chkdsk" (no quotes) and press Enter. Vista Search will find
chkdsk.exe and execute it; WinXP's Run box will do the same.
2. Press <Win>+R to open the Run box and enter chkdsk.
3. Open a Command Prompt window and type chkdsk C: (or other drive).
If this is not what you are asking, please post back. Be sure to mention
your Windows version.

Hello!
How can I run GUI check utility from command line.
Usually it available at (Some Disk) -> Properties -> Tools -> Check
Now.
Note that I'm not interested in chkdsk.exe - it's command line
utility.
Thanks in advance!
