Hi all,
I have two questions about windows
1. The properties of the file.
What's the difference between the "size" and "size on disk"? If the "size
on
disk "means the file on the physical disk and which contain fragment. But
why
sometimes the"size" is bigger and sometime the "size on disk"is bigger?
Each file consumes x clusters on the disk. Clusters are of a fixed size,
e.g. 4096 bytes. A file that contains 10x4096 + 10=40970 bytes will
therefore consume 11x4096=45056 bytes of disk space.
2. The confuse about the "unmovable files on the root disk"
As far as I new, when you install the OS, there must be something written
in
the unmovable file of the root disk, such as MFT, MBR, boot manager.. but
one
day, when I do the disk defragmenter. I find no unmovable files on the
root
disk. How can the OS boot fine even run smooth...
The Master Boot Record (MBR) is not a file but an area of data
in a specific area of the hard disk.
